Yoga Fundamentals

4 Week Series with Jacquelyn Autrey

Wednesday | 10-11:30AM

  •  March 29 | Sun salutation A & Standing postures
  •  April 05 | Sun salutation B & Back bending and twists
  •  April 12 | Hip opening & Arm balancing
  •  April 19 | Inversion & Forward bending

This 4 –week introduction is open to beginners, advanced students and those who wish to reconnect to the fundamentals of alignment and vinyasa flow style yoga. This is also a great opportunity to get that friend who has been talking about starting a practice to do what they say they are going to do!

You are never too tight or weak to start. Where would you like to be in 4 weeks? For beginners, you will learn how to use props and set up poses from the ground up allowing you to comfortably attend open level classes. Advanced students will learn how to delve deeper into alignment and increase balance between effort and surrender. All will learn how make yoga "really" work for them. At the end of the series you will find yourself more focused, more grounded, stronger and maybe even better looking!

You are encouraged to attend all 4 weeks but dropping in for one class is also welcome.

Yoga class packages still apply to this series or $15 drop-in.

Jacquelyn has been practicing yoga for 12 years. She received her Yoga Alliance 500 hour certification in March of 2014 through ISHTA yoga (Integrated Science of Tantra, Hatha, and Ayurveda). She was a graduate of Sarva Yoga Academy in 2013 and is a student of the Asian Classics Institute at the Three Jewels where she has been studying Tibetan Buddhism with Hector Marcel since 2012.

Jacquelyn teaches meditation and asana blending the different styles of Hatha yoga, Ayurveda, Tantra, and Tibetan Buddhism, in away that suits the needs of each individual student. She weaves the tools of pranayama, heat building asana postures, meditation and kriyas to bring you into the present moment and allow transformation or purification of the physical and subtle bodies to occur.

She is eternally grateful for all of her teachers: Alan and Sarah Finger, Peter Ferko, Mona Anand, Hector Marcel, Geshe Michael Roach, Venerable Phuntsok, Michael Hewett, Sarah Tomlinson, and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, who have provided the gift of Divine Wisdom. When not doing yoga, you can find Jacquelyn curating an art exhibit or kicking a soccer ball.
