Yoga Asana is a physical practice that is one small element of yogic studies. Yoga unites and strengthens mind and body.

The Three Jewels offers a yoga practice imbued with the original teachings of Master Patanjali, designed to deepen awareness and guide you to your highest potential. The classes are "vinyasa-style" and informed by Iyengar and Ashtanga lineages. Specific techniques vary with each teacher. Class size is capped at 12 yogis to authenticate a deep teacher-student relationship, and hands-on adjustments are always offered.

Class Types

Align & Flow*

This class deconstructs and reconstructs asana, giving specific guidance on alignment.  Progressive posture variations are offered based on the strength of the student. 

Open Level

The asana are basic to intermediate and the class pacing is energetic.  

Intermediate/ Advanced

This student will already have a consistent yoga practice. This student will understand ujjaii pranayama and will be very comfortable in an open level class. The asana are advanced and class pacing is energetic. Expect arm balances, inversions, and intense core work.

Power Hour

This student will have sufficient physical strength for an energetic class. The focus of the class is physical. Expect upbeat music, an energetic pace and a dose of mental stimulation.

Restorative Flow*

A combination of traditional asana and prop-supported restorative poses is used to build heat gently, aiming toward the goal of conscious relaxation. 

Restorative Yoga*

The class consists of a few postures, mostly on the floor in seated or supine postures with the support of bolsters, cushions and other props. The class pace is gentle and calming. The goal is stillness of mind and body.

Community Yoga

Sundays | 11:30 - 12:45PM

Asana and pacing are generally gauged by attendees. The classes are an offering led by teachers-in-training. Classes may include basic pranayama, meditation, and chanting.

Community Yoga with Liberation Prison Yoga Project

Mondays | 5 - 6PM

A donation-based class for all who are feeling the pain of living today. We welcome all, and invite those re-entering society whether they have been imprisoned, exiled, are refugees seeking asylum or just those who feel alienated in any way. We are all looking for home, for safety, or a refuge. We will offer you the skills to be able to find safety within yourselves in the sanctuary that is The Three Jewels. This class is trauma informed, with a focus on connecting from the heart, and safe ways to explore our inner selves through the yoga practice and mindfulness tools, vital support systems amid chaos and stress.

Mindful Yoga for Veterans (and everyone)

Saturdays | 11:30- 1PM

Mindful yoga is a practice accessible to everyone, regardless of yoga experience, age, size, strength or flexibility. It comprises, physical movement (asana), breathwork (pranayama), meditation and restorative postures, with an emphasis on alignment, curiosity and stress relief.  A percentage of all donations will go to a different veterans organization every month. ($15 suggested)

Yoga for 12 Step Recovery

Sundays | 5 - 6:30PM

Yoga for 12 Step Recovery is a framework for integrating the wisdom of yoga with the practical tools of 12-step recovery programs. Y12SR offers a physical, mental and spiritual approach to support recovery from addictive behavior patterns, guided by the premise that "the issues live in the tissues". Y12SR meetings are divided between a group check-in (equivalent to a 12-step meeting) focusing on a particular theme of recovery, followed by a yoga practice integrating that same theme. Y12SR is open to all 12-step program members. It is intended as a part of a holistic recovery program including the cognitive work of 12-step programs, not as a replacement.
