  • Meditation

GUIDED WEEKLY MEDITATIONS TO SUPPORT COURSE COMPLETION. Every dharma course includes a weekly optional Monday Night Meditation Hall, designed to support a students meditation practice development. In order to reach the deep stages of meditation required to initiate fundamental personal change, practitioners must get to 60 minutes of perfect concentration per day. Meditation Hall guides help students identify where they are at on the path to deep meditation, and then provide techniques and advice to increase meditative concentration, or buld a meditation practice from the ground up.

*This is an optional course offering.

  • Journaling Practice

DAILY JOURNALING PRACTICE. Learn traditional journaling technique for Buddhist consciousness development. In order to refine and access the states of mind necessary to achieve deep states of meditation required to shift realms, it is essential to track and train the general mental state throughout the day. Students will learn a traditional technique for doing so and also answer prompts about death awareness throughout the day.

Particularly motivated students are encouraged to sign up for MASTER CLASS, where an expert teacher with 30 years of experience, Hector Marcel, will read students’ journals, provide comments, and host a weekly 90-minute deeper download with Q&A to triage specific questions.

*This is an optional course offering.

John-Chris Record is a Dharma, Meditation, and Yoga teacher at Three Jewels. An attorney for nearly a decade, John-Chris is a member of the oldest and largest public defender firm in the country, where he represents low-income elder New Yorkers at risk of eviction. John-Chris has completed both the Meditation and Yoga Teacher Trainings at Three Jewels, as well as formal mentorships in both modalities. He completed his 18 Foundational Asian Classics Institute (“ACI”) Sutra Courses in 2021.
